I am Evangelia Tsakanika and I am an archaeologist. I am 45 years old, married with a son who is 8 years old.
I graduated from the department of history and
archeology of the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki specialising in
archeology. After graduating from the University, I successfully attended an
one-year full-time postgraduate course in the department of Ancient History and
Archaeology at the University of Birmingham, where I became an MA holder in
Greek Archaeology.
I worked in the Greek Archaeological Service
for many years and I took part in many excavations in different places in
Greece as scientific Staff.
For the last twelve
years I have been working as a greek philologist in public schools. I have been
teaching ancient and modern greek language and history in the 4th
general Lyceum of Rhodes for the last four years.
I have attended
a number of seminars on teaching methods concerning both children and adults. Also I speak English fluently and I am
computer literate.
I like
teaching as the daily cooperation with young people is very interesting and
enjoyable. My aim is to attract the interest
of my students, enrich their cultural awareness and approach the science of
history from various aspects.
In my spare
time I enjoy running, cycling and dancing. I love travelling and meeting new
people.
