Rafail Sideris, Gymnasio Gennadiou

I am Sideris Georgios-Rafail and I am 41 years old. I am from Chalkida, capital town of the island of Evia. I graduated from the department of Social Theology of the Naional and Kapodistrian University of Athens. I was appointed in Rhodes in 2010  as a school teacher and for the last years I have been teaching in the Gennadi Highschool. At the same time, I serve as a priest in Malta for the Metropolis of Italy and Malta of the Global Patriarchy. I am the head of AHEPA (American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association). AHEPA’S mission is to promote Hellenism, education, charity, civic responsibility, family and individual excellence. Also I speak German fluently and I am interested in attending the technological advance. As a teacher I aim at achieving excellent cooperation with my students and I like offer them my knowledge.

Dimitrios Kavallas, Gymnasio Gennadiou

I am Dimitrios Kavallas and I am 53 years old. I am married and I have two children. I graduated from the department of Theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. I was appointed in Rhodes as a school teacher and for the last twenty five years I have been the headmaster of the Gymnasium of Gennadi Rhodes. As a headteacher it is my priority to improve school climate by adopting new teaching methods and innovative programmes in cooperation with other European schools. As a vice chairman of the municipal community of Lardos it is my special care to contribute to the progress of our village. Finally, I am interested in introducing digital culture at school and I attend technological development with great excitement.

It is a blend of training and administration tools that incorporates everything required for our local system to operate.

Lilia Tsakanika, 4th Lykeio Rodou



 I am Evangelia Tsakanika and I am an archaeologist. I am 45 years old, married with a son who is 8 years old.

I graduated from the department of history and archeology of the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki specialising in archeology.  After graduating from the University, I successfully attended an one-year full-time postgraduate course in the department of Ancient History and Archaeology at the University of Birmingham, where I became an MA holder in Greek Archaeology.

I worked in the Greek Archaeological Service for many years and I took part in many excavations in different places in Greece as scientific Staff.

For the last twelve years I have been working as a greek philologist in public schools. I have been teaching ancient and modern greek language and history in the 4th general Lyceum of Rhodes for the last four years.
I have attended a number of seminars on teaching methods concerning both children and adults. Also I speak English fluently and I am computer literate.

I like teaching as the daily cooperation with young people is very interesting and enjoyable.  My aim is to attract the interest of my students, enrich their cultural awareness and approach the science of history from various aspects.

In my spare time I enjoy running, cycling and dancing. I love travelling and meeting new people.

Sofia Karagiannidou, 4th Lykeio Rodou



My name is Sofia Karagiannidou and I am a BSc holder in fysical education from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as well as a Msc holder in the administration of educational units from the University of Aegean.
My teaching experience is 28 years and I have been serving as a Lyceum head teacher since 2008. More specifically, I have been the head teacher of the 4th Lyceum of Rhodes for the past four years.
I personally promote and aim at the school teachersactive involvement in our school unit projects. In a sense of parity and solidarity I practically support my colleagues’ initiatives with the aim of cultivating a democratic and positive school environment. I also encourage our students’ participation in european projects, competitions, educational trips and sports events. As a head teacher I contribute to the promotion of educational projects and workshops concerning the wider social environment and having both teachers’ and studentsawareness raising as a target.
Finally, I attend with great interest the technological advance and hence the new technology use in the educational procedure.
